It doesn’t get any sweeter than this. Our couple lovingly refers to each other as “honey”, so much so that their friends affectionately nicknamed the two “the honeys.” As an homage to the moniker, the theme of honey was woven throughout the couple’s wedding day! The charming reference stole the show, from a champagne wall reading, “cheers honey” to an escort wall filled with honey pots. Third and Park put the exclamation mark on the event with lush, romantic blooms in crisp whites. From the bride… When we first started dating, Stu lived in Chicago and I lived in New York. During Stu’s first trip to visit me in New York City, the first place I took him was Washington Square Park. It was a very special place for us and ultimately where Stu proposed. Due to this, arches (like the one at the park) were one of the key elements that were referenced throughout the wedding.
Another big theme throughout the wedding was a nickname that our friends refer to us by, which is the “honeys”. This was originally a nickname for each other that really took a life of its own over the years. Under this theme, we had the champagne wall “Cheers Honey” and a “You made the Hive” seating wall. We also had guests table numbers on honeypots and used bee’s wax candles on the tables.
The feeling for the decor of the wedding was classic but modern. I wanted to look back at the wedding and feel as if it was timeless but with unexpected/fun twists. For colors, I wanted everything very neutral with white, lush/overgrown greenery and a touch of the bee’s wax as a neutral. I also had some pops of millennial pink, for a modern twist. I loved the stark contrast the black and white dance floor added to the lush romantic feel of the wedding.
