Old Botanical Garden Editorial Inspired By Impressionists’ Paintings

This romantic, Monet inspired editorial at Old Botanical Garden is filled with charming details. The beauty of nature took center stage in the well-thought out touches by Happy Doll Wedding, from the bridal morning with a big straw hat and a basket full of delphiniums, as if the bride had just been foraging for her bouquet, to an artful cake by Evelina Melnikova that seemed to sit atop an organic growing garden. Tatyana Chaiko artfully captured the intimate and artistic atmosphere in her exceptional imagery. Get inspired by all the beauty in the full gallery.

From Tatyana Chaiko… With this editorial we wanted to pay tribute to those old forgotten locations, which might be not so festive and glorious as big villas, chateaus etc, but still have their own unique charm… When Nathalie from HappyDollWeddings and I first came to this Old Botanical Garden we were mesmerized by its atmosphere – untouched and even wild. How great would it be to capture a story here and to inspire couples to widen their choice of venues, we thought.

Thinking of the starting point for our shooting we both remembered the paintings of Claude Monet and other impressionists – with lots of flowers and the most beautiful shades and tones of nature, and with this nostalgic mood. This is when we decided it would be table setting for an intimate dinner with variety of seasonal flowers, which included hydrangea, delphinium, dahlia and others. These flowers also were used in tiny details such as boutonnieres – which were individually made representing each separate flower in it.

When it came to bride & groom outfits we decided to go even more creative. Bridal morning with a big straw hat, decorated with flowers (of course), and a basket full of delphiniums – as if the bride has just been foraging for her bouquet; Nightgown with sheer bolero and bell-sleeves; and palm-grove near the old greenhouse as a location. Then came the cocktail hour for which we chose another piece of art dress created by Cathy Telle – with fluffy sleeves, which can be taken off leaving light elegant underdress. For the groom’s style we decided to go a bit retro instead of black tie – to add a bit of a nostalgic note to the whole atmosphere. And when it came to the main reception look – there was nothing better to represent it but long classic white dress with poofy bell sleeves elegantly opening the shoulders and beautiful decollete of the bride. The shoes by BellaBelle with gentle floral embroidery were chosen to rhyme with floral theme. Hair style went from natural wavy look to classic but still super-natural buns, created by Ira Sizikova. Beautiful handmade accessories by Mary Eysmont completed the look perfectly.

To create intimate and artistic atmosphere, we lightened up the candles on the table, richly decorated with the variety of blush, orange, creamy and violet-blue flowers, and made a beautiful natur-morte art out of cake, which was served on a “pillow” of greenery, flowers and even seasonal fruits and berries. The beautiful stationery set by Anna Tsymbal was made in dusty blue tones – inspired by the delphinium flower.

Can you only imagine raising a glass of rosè on a quiet summer night celebrating your love and sharing these precious moments with your beloved? Yes, we agree!.. Magic!
