We’re falling in love with these European destination wedding vibes. When it came to fashion, this couple understood the assignment. Filled with warm sunshine, it couldn‘t have been a more perfect day for Honour and Blessing Events to plan and design a relaxed, yet refined style. Studio Mondine added freshness to the day with swoon-worthy blooms. If these images don’t inspire your own happily ever after, we don’t know what will! As always, Jen Huang Bogan beautifully captured the details in her imagery. Be prepared to pin your heart away in the full gallery!
From Jen Huang Bogan… This particular wedding inspiration shoot (made to feel like a real wedding in all regards) was special in many ways. This is one of the first weddings ever at the new Santa Barbara House, a luxury home and intimate wedding space in downtown Santa Barbara. Dee an Evan, a real engaged couple, are planning a destination wedding in Italy. Due to the pandemic, their plans have been extended, but we were able to create a celebration for them here in California, with all the beauty that they were dreaming of far away. Also, we wanted this wedding to highlight diversity in the industry, and thus we chose all female owned businesses! Diversity is beautiful! We want to encourage wedding couples to think about diversity when hiring their vendors. It is possible to be inclusive and create high end, elevated style at the same time. There is a world of possibility out there!
Bringing a touch of Dee and Evan’s heritage into this wedding, we designed it to exude a bit of Italy to California.
This wedding took us to an afternoon in Tuscany with warm sunshine. With a colour palette of greens and whites, we used various tones and textures to create that relaxed yet refined style.
Playing with balance, we went for a loose romantic braid and natural makeup paired with a structured and elegant gown. An A-line silhouette that flows into a long train with a plunging neckline to create a classic yet sexy look. In contrast to this elegant dress, the groom shines in a simple dark blue suit.
A classic green and white colour palette can seem simple, but the stationery included touches of gold and black to give it that elegant and sophisticated look without being too fussy. There is plenty of beautiful greenery that surrounds the porch at the Santa Barbara house, and we wanted to have that as the focal ceremony point without taking away from the charm of the house. Studio Mondine designed floral arrangements in various sizes on wooden pillars to complement the house while giving it a special touch.
The perfect place for the reception was the long olive alleé at the Santa Barbara House with stunning olive trees on both sides and plenty of herb bushes and shrubs. Draping parts of the trees with soft white fabrics created beautiful movement as the cloth fluttered and swayed in the breeze. The table itself was set with a soft and simple style with various candles and minimalistic plates and flatware. Tying in with the draping is a soft white cloth that runs down the middle along with white and green floral arrangements throughout.
With plenty of good food and drinks, a vintage sports car with the classic “Just Married” sign to end off the celebrations, this was a celebration that is both elegant in its simplicity and effortlessly timeless.
