This baseball-playing groom and his high school sweetheart bride hit their wedding day out of the park! After traveling to Australia, our bride fell in love with the wedding aesthetic there- soft neutrals, interesting texture, and lots and lots of florals. When it was wedding planner Alessandra, of Details Darling, turn to get married she decided to plan and design a day filled with all of that and more. Special touches were incorporated at every turn, from the chic arched shelf wall escort display to the custom welcome concession stand- like something you’d see at a baseball game! From the bride… We met at Santa Barbara high school 8 years ago. I was a sophomore and John was a senior. One random day, a friend asked John to “crash” a lunch date of two other friends and this girl. Little did he know “this girl would end up being his wife.

John is a baseball player and was off to play college baseball at UC Irvine. After John graduated we weren’t sure what the future held and so began our long-distance relationship. We ended up doing long-distance for 7 years. From train rides to car rides, to endless flights, I always made time to see John during his busy baseball schedule.

Our overarching theme for our wedding day was “Home is Wherever I’m With You”. We’ve done long-distance for so long, that we truly believe that home is wherever and whenever we are together. We put “Home is Wherever I’m With You” on our escort wall, had the song be our recessional song once we were married, and then named all our tables after all the places that are of significance to us.
