Danni and Nick’s sentimental elopement at the Montalvo Arts Center was intentionally romantic with a tropical glam flair! K. Saw Events created the perfect balance of romance and Hawaiian inspiration with love-infused details — like Daylight Letters’ hand painted invitation suite, the couple’s “mocktail and cake moment” at the sweetheart table, and a personalized flower cloche! Le Bloomerie created a little slice of paradise with exotic floral arrangements in peach and cream hues. From K. Saw Weddings… It was truly an honor for me to plan and design such a special elopement for these two beautiful souls, Danni & Nick. They deserve every bit of it. Everything was planned in a span of four weeks for a two hour elopement for Danni & Nick with no guests, only vendors present. Our team happily worked hand-in-hand to create details made with love. Daylight Letters, a Hong Kong-based illustrator, hand-painted their venue on an heirloom invitation suite. Florals in peaches and creams were designed and created by Le Bloomerie, and a handcrafted cake by Trizia Cake Artistry personified our Bride’s Tropical Glam vision.
Nick & Danni have always loved traveling to Hawaii which is why we incorporated these details for them. We wanted to bring them back to paradise without having to leave home. We included special, key moments a traditional wedding would have even if it was just for the two of them. They had their getting ready photos captured by Catherine Leanne, first look with a stunning backdrop boasting the tall cypress trees of Villa Montalvo, they had their ceremony where they read their vows and exchanged their rings with a tropical floral backdrop reminiscent of a Hawaiian venue. In addition to these elements, K. Saw Weddings made it even more special for them by incorporating special details that traditional elopements usually do not have. We designed a special sweetheart table for them to hold their mini “mocktail and cake moment” and first toast as newlyweds. A little flower cloche with their scripted names was nestled on the table as a little gift from me as their planner. We also set aside some moments for them to have their “editorial-style” couple portraits around the villa for their special photograph keepsakes. Seeing how happy they were on their special day made my heart full.
From the couple… When Nick & I first met at UC Santa Cruz in 2008, little did we know from the very beginning that we were going to be someone special to each other. Starting out as friends, the better we got to know each other, the more we realized the immense joy we felt in each other’s presence, always yearning for more time in the day to spend with each other.
Over the past 10 years together, we have faced many challenges. From living in a tiny studio together for 7 years right out of college to supporting one another through personal struggles, our love and trust in each other has only deepened and matured because of it.
In 2020, we had to make the tough decision whether to forgo our traditional wedding or pivot our wedding vision to fit with pandemic protocols. Ultimately, we both wanted to celebrate our union in the most intimate way possible.
On a warm summer day, we eloped at Villa Montalvo in Saratoga, CA with the help of K. Saw Weddings and her lovely team of vendors. Prior to arriving at the venue we quickly got pastries at Manresa Bread and decided at the last minute to stop into a small shop to buy simple gold band rings just for the elopement. Full of our favorite pastries & a sense of excitement for what memories the day would bring, we were more than ready to say “I do.”
Maintaining our original wedding vision, K. Saw Weddings and her amazing team brought “Tropical Glam” into real life. Le Bloomerie utilized the existing tropical landscape of Villa Montalvo and transformed the outdoor event spaces into a modern oasis incorporating palm leaves with peaches and cream florals. Everything was captured by Catherine Leanne Photography just the way we wanted it. We still gush over how special and intimate our wedding elopement was for us.
