Chic and stylish, there’s just something about Paris. Since our bride lived in the City of Love and got engaged there, it only seemed fitting for her to throw the Parisian-inspired wedding of her dreams. Instead of a destination wedding in France at a chateau, the couple decided to bring Paris to DC so their grandmothers could celebrate by their sides. They enlisted SRS Events to make their dreams a reality, and the result has us feeling like we’ve fallen into a fairytale. Wildly romantic blooms in loose, organic arrangements by Floral & Bloom Designs will have you saying, “oui!” You can feel the love and the happiness of the day in the elegant imagery by Rebecca Theresa Photography, be sure to see them all in the full gallery.
From SRS Events… For Lauren, Paris, France isn’t just a romantic city, rich with history, art, cobblestone streets, and generational cafés. Lauren lived in Paris during high school, attending the American School of Paris, and thus, as Hemingway described so perfectly, Paris has always stayed with her – a “movable feast.” When Lauren and Steven decided they would attend Lauren’s high school reunion in Paris before embarking on a 3-week road trip throughout France, Steven knew a proposal in Paris would be the catalyst to the perfect trip.
A cloudless blue sky, with a slight chill in the air, and no plans but to walk the streets of Paris, Steven proposed to Lauren in the early afternoon of June 6th on the Pont Alexandre III bridge – the culmination of a day described by Lauren as “perfect” no less than four times prior to the engagement and countless thereafter. Steven and Lauren celebrated that night with champagne at the Shangra-La rooftop bar overlooking the Eiffel Tower, a three-star Michelin dinner at Le Cinq the following night, and a trip of a lifetime which would take them to Normandy, Mont Saint-Michel, Giverny, Loire Valley, Provence, Nice, Monaco, and every small town, lavender field, and cheese shop in-between.
The bride had a vision of lavender that we designed with the mismatched bridesmaid dresses, gorgeous florals by Floral & Bloom, lavender escort board, and calligraphy, table linens, and runners, the signature drink, and more! What is more Parisian than macarons, of which they happen to be the bride’s favorite dessert! Two ombre lavender macarons towers flanked the petite wedding cake from their favorite neighborhood bakery.
