Classic Virginia Spring Wedding At The Clifton Inn

Wanting to mirror the aesthetic of a spring day, Shelby and Scott’s wedding was equal parts romantic and classic. Set in the Virginia countryside with lots of greenery, neutral blooms, and charming garden touches Sophie Felts Floral Design helped bring their wedding dreams to life. Shelby and Scott spent a great deal of time focusing on the details, and enlisted Social Graces Weddings to help them fill the day with intimate and thoughtful touches. From their custom monogram incorporated throughout various elements of the wedding, from the wax seal on the escort board to poolside pillows, to the inclusion of their newly adopted Shih Tzu, Gigi, every detail was thoughtfully curated. From Sidney Leigh Photography… Shelby and Scott met at work where Scott claimed, “love at first sight.” Although it took a little time and persistence before the two became official, they soon became inseparable. Scott proposed during dinner at The Inn at Little Washington on January 25th, 2020 a very special location to Shelby and her family as her grandparents used to frequent this remarkable place.

Charlottesville, Virginia was always a favorite destination for Shelby and Scott while living in the DC area. The rolling countryside, beautiful wineries, pristine golf courses, and charming downtown perfectly captured the vision for the wedding weekend festivities. The Clifton embodied all the characteristics that Shelby and Scott were looking for as a backdrop for their celebration. The history of the estate coupled with scenic mountain views and intimate accommodations for their immediate family and friends made their selection of the venue effortless.

The one facet of the wedding day that couldn’t be planned for was the weather, and although the rain started falling about 20 minutes before the outdoor ceremony started, both Shelby and Scott agreed that it was incredibly special to watch everyone come together to celebrate with them all the same. All in all, every inch of this Charlottesville wedding day was customized to perfectly fit Shelby and Scott as a couple, and even with the rain, it could not have been a more beautiful wedding day!
