From Sacia Matthews Photography… Stephanie and Bobby are Charlotte, NC locals who knew they wanted to have an intimate, family-focused affair in downtown Charleston in 2020. Just two weeks before their wedding day, they both ended up with COVID-19 and had to make the heartbreaking decision to postpone their wedding to the spring of 2021. On a gorgeous April day, their dreams came true and they partnered up with principal planner Ali with A. Caldwell Events to create a stunning day that felt personal, intimate, and floral-filled.
The wedding took place at The Gadsden House, a wonderful venue in the middle of downtown Charleston that provided the perfect backdrop for their nuptials while keeping their guests close to the unique charm that Charleston also offers for destination weddings. They included traditions that were close to their family, for example jumping the broom, and keeping family in their wedding party to surround them with love the entire day.
The couple also included samplings of low-country bites that are prime Charleston specialties including light bites of chicken and waffles and ham biscuits to name a few. Beginning the day with gorgeous summer-infused details, an emotional first touch, and ending with an al-fresco dinner with an epic Charleston sunset, this day was one to remember for this very special couple!
