From the bride… We are both very simple people who love to spend time outdoors in nature – running, hiking, surfing. We wanted a very simple, organic wedding with a lot of greenery, which our wedding planner and florist were able to perfect. In regards to color palette, we envisioned neutral colors including creams and ivories. I was very hesitant to include color, but Susan was able to talk me into incorporating a few subtle green elements, like the napkins and name cards – I’m glad she succeeded in convincing me! Our wedding contained the traditional Jewish customs that were most important to us, including signing of the ketubah before the ceremony. We had our bridal party recite the seven blessings.

To incorporate our parents into the ceremony, our officiant, Cantor Marc, added a unique element, having them recite a blessing while draping us in a tallit, the Jewish prayer shawl. Cake is a big part of the Eisenbud family and SusieCakes has long been our favorite bakery, so we couldn’t pass up on the opportunity for our wedding. We did a combination of chocolate, vanilla and marble cakes.

Aaron didn’t want a traditional “slow love song.” We were on a week-long roundtrip through the Utah national parks and probably listened to every possible first dance song. We ultimately chose this song because the lyrics aligned with our relationship and Aaron approved of the tempo. It was an all-consuming process for a solid 6 months, and that was with a wedding planner! We are not a couple that ever fights, but planning our wedding definitely added a new dimension to our relationship and led to a lot of bickering – one of the more frequent disagreements was Aaron wanting to just relax after work while Lauren knew they had to be wedding productive.

Just be patient with each other, because the wedding day itself makes the whole process completely worth it. And we never could have put together this wedding without such an incredible wedding planner – be sure you find a wedding planner that gets your style! If you’re unable to hire a wedding planner until the month, or even day of, be sure to create a timeline and stick to it – it makes those last few weeks before the wedding much more enjoyable rather than stressful. Our wedding was far more incredible than we could ever have imagined and perfectly embodied who we are. The ceremony was filled with laughter and we were surrounded by everyone we love.

From Anya Kernes PhotographyBringing the outdoors in while keeping an elegant and refined aesthetic was the goal for the overall design of the wedding. Rich wood elements combined with wild greens, ferns, moss and beautiful garden blooms created an outdoor atmosphere with a modern twist.
