A Romantic Spring Shower Helps Highlight The Beauty Of The Season

Proof that rain doesn’t have to ruin the day, we’re swooning over this April Showers-inspired editorial. Highlighting a beautifully authentic and romantic spring shower, this styled shoot represents the best that spring has to offer no matter the circumstances. Rachael Ellen Events created a day that told the story of the season through color with touches of sunny yellow for warmer days, pops of deep purple for the days that pull us back into winter, and the bright promise of May flowers with touches of whites and pinks. Featuring all of spring’s most beautiful blooms, NYC meets spring garden in the most beautiful of ways. Gracie Byrd Jones artfully captured the romance of the day in her imagery. From Rachael Ellen Events… Our April Showers editorial was inspired by the changing of seasons and the nebulous weather that comes with it. After the past year, we are no stranger to a “plan B” when it comes to weddings and I wanted to highlight the beauty of just that!

We styled the ceremony under the 620 Loft & Garden clear tent – arguably the most beautiful rain plan in NYC. It felt like we were under one big bubble umbrella. Organic pedestal arrangements featuring spring Fritillaria, tulips, and Forsentia flanked each side of the couple. The drops of dew added just that much more romance to the organic design.

The tablescape was created to feel like May flowers were starting to peak out of the garden, or table in this case, surrounded by dozens of pastel-colored taper candles. We balanced a mod lilac linen with classic gold and white china, flatware, and crystal glassware. It was the perfect spring soiree for 16 of their lucky “guests.”
