Clarice and Gavin’s wedding was a beautiful celebration of Cantonese culture mixed with a modern design aesthetic. From the elegant red and gold tea ceremony to the contemporary reception design filled with mirrored glass tables and modern florals designed by KW Weddings & Flowers, the day was the perfect blend of tradition and style. From Jasmine Pettersen… The celebrations integrated the couple’s Cantonese heritage in multiple ways, including an intimate tea ceremony days earlier, where the couple, dressed in red and gold, honored their elders by offering tea. Towards the end of the night, the couple and their guests participated in an ebullient round of Yum Sing, the playful Cantonese tradition of drinking a toast to celebrate the newlyweds to rousing cries of “Yuuuuuuum sing!”

With sweeping views of the city’s glittering skyline through 9 meter high windows, Melbourne’s Metropolis Events provided the perfect backdrop for Clarice and Gavin’s sparkling, modern city wedding. The thoroughly contemporary florals included roses, lilies, hydrangea, and phalaenopsis orchids in pastel tones.

Playing up the loftiness of the space, the reception styling by Karen Wang added drama with Milan basket chandeliers floating above a mirrored glass bridal table. Round guest tables were elevated with taper candles in soaring crystal candelabras, making for light and modern centerpieces.
