This Charleston Affair Is Giving Us All the Gatsby Meets Bridgerton Vibes

What happens when The Great Gatsby and Bridgerton worlds collide in a charming Charleston fête? Magic. Today’s wedding planned by Pure Luxe Bride is just that! From the neutral palette complimented by gold accents against the bright yellow walls of the William Aiken House, to Hannah’s timeless lace Legends by Romona Keveza gown – the details to fall in love with at the full gallery are truly endless.

From Pure Luxe BrideHannah and Justin’s wedding at William Aiken House was elegant and classic. This couple was forced to postpone due to Covid in 2020, so we were even more excited to finally celebrate these two in February 2021. A beautiful sunshiny day was perfect for the couple to say “I Do” in front of the pergola dripping in greenery, and guests were greeted with a champagne tower following the ceremony. The venue was designed in neutral colors of white, gold, and greenery accents. The custom lace linens, white and gold half circle bar, upholstered chairs, Italian cane back lounge furniture, soft white draping, and crystal chandeliers were perfect for the reception area. The bridesmaids were in champagne satin dresses which matched perfectly with the bride’s Romona Keveza gown and lush white blooms. The cake design was hand piped vine to mimic the fabulous lace applique of the floral linen.

1) What was your vision for your wedding day? What made you choose certain colors or decor?

From the Bride, Hannah… My vision for my wedding day was timeless and elegant. I was going for Gatsby meets Bridgerton vibes with the gold accents, chandeliers and coupe glasses while also playing on the historic beauty of the William Aiken house. The William Aiken house is already so colorful with the different rooms and yellow building so I didn’t want to take away from that by adding more color to it. That’s why I chose neutral colors with some gold accents.

2) What is the moment you remember most about your wedding day?

The moment I remember most from my wedding day was our first look and our first dance. In the chaos of the day, that was really the two chances I had to take it all in and realize what the day was all about. Oh and the horah, there really is nothing like the horah! It gets the whole crowd involved and it really is a miracle I didn’t fall off the chair lol

3) Talk about your dress. Who made it? What made you say yes to it?

My dress was Legends by Romona Kaveza. It’s funny because I never thought I would pick a dress like that but because I am so short (5’2) a lot of dresses overwhelmed me so having a tighter fit looked better. I also just love lace and it really added something to the dress!

4) What’s next for you and your husband?

We are hoping to go to Hawaii in august after Justin finishes his shoulder/elbow fellowship in St. Louis! And we still don’t know where we will be living next year but hope to make a decision in the next few weeks!
