Be prepared for the ultimate dose of pretty at this Thai-American summer garden wedding! Duan & Craig met in 2010 on the set of Disney channel’s “The Suite Life on Deck”, so fittingly, the iconic Dylan and Cole Sprouse served as the best men at their wedding (fangirl moment!). Their wedding at Descanso Gardens was filled with elements of tasteful blush tones, all pulled together by the wizardry of Leilani Weddings. Shindig Chic absolutely blew us away with their summery and feminine arrangements. Just look at those bouquets! Head to the full gallery, captured perfectly by Mist of Morning Photography, for a closer look at all the fun!
From Mist of Morning Photography… Duan & Craig met in 2010 on the set of Disney channel’s “The Suite Life on Deck”. Duan had noticed Craig after seeing him regularly at work, but it wasn’t until she was directed to cross his line of vision during a scene that he first saw her. After chatting in person, they began messaging on Facebook and haven’t gone a single day without talking since. Fittingly, Dylan and Cole Sprouse, who have become like brothers to the couple, served as the best men at their wedding.
Duan & Craig’s wedding brought them from Brooklyn, New York back home to Los Angeles, where they celebrated with 130 of their closest friends and family members. Their nuptials took place on a dreamy summer day at Descanso Garden – a romantic garden venue just outside of LA. Duan & Craig had some initial ideas of what they wanted their wedding to look like, but ultimately, they put a lot of trust in their vendors to guide them through the planning and design, and the outcome of that collaborative process was a tasteful, blush toned wedding palette with green and gold accents, and vintage touches throughout.
The creative freedom that they gave Leilani Weddings and Shindig Chic allowed the final look of the wedding design & florals to be somewhat of a surprise, and both Duan & Craig said that they were blown away when they saw how everything had come together, and that it completely exceeded their expectations. Reflecting on what their favorite part of the day was, Duan & Craig both said, without hesitation, “the Thai ceremony”. From the first time they ever discussed getting married early on in their relationship, the decision of whether or not to have a traditional Thai ceremony wasn’t even a question.
The main part of the Thai ceremony is the water blessing (Rod Num Sang) where guests approach the bride & groom and offer well-wishes as they pour water down their hands. Each water blessing was deeply personal, often accompanied by laughter and joyful tears, making this emotional ceremony a personal career favorite to witness.
The guests thoroughly enjoyed being a part of the wedding ceremony in such a unique way, and it allowed Duan & Craig the opportunity to connect with each person individually. These two make love look easy even though it’s not always quite so simple.
I heard numerous sincere remarks from guests on how much they admired Duan & Craig and the decade long relationship that they have built together. Their friends and family describe their love as one to follow, and it was a true privilege to celebrate with & honor them as well as the people who helped to bring them there. Enjoy!
