A Whimsical Secret Garden Meets Monet's Water Lilies Wedding
When two worlds collide the results are captivating. A powerhouse team of wedding experts came together with an original concept to create an ethereal, secret garden-inspired editorial. When they arrived on the grounds of their venue The Clifton they couldn't help but remark on the resemblance to the painting Bridge over a Pond of Water Lilies by Claude Monet. The inspiration then shifted to an event experience combining the two concepts together, which Karen Duckett Events pulled together beautifully. Each detail was artfully captured by cinematographers Deanna and Grant Harrison of Harrison Films and film photographer Hana Gonzalez of Weddings by Hana. We crafted a color palette of saturated greens, jade, and chartreuse as our pops of color, but wanted a softer base of taupe, cement gray, and cameo pink to allow the bolder colors to really shine. When it comes to eye-catching elements, the balance of color, texture, and detail are key to creating sensory pleasure for all those who partake in the experience.
The focus for this inspiration shoot was heavily on the tabletop details tucked away within the sailcloth tented reception space. Tabletop florals of local limelight and lace hydrangea, garden roses, dahlias, spray roses, butterfly ranunculus, campanula, delphinium, and foxglove were masterfully installed by Rachel Johnson of Floral & Bloom. On the head table, she created a way to bring the eye up by using flowers along the existing columns within the sailcloth tents and a cascading floral runner dripping down to the wooden tent floor.
We hope that the classic, sophisticated garden reception will entice couples to take a second look at the existing grounds and architecture of their chosen venue to create bespoke designs that tie back to natural elements of beauty surrounding their family and friends.
