The historic Château de Pierreclos in Burgundy, France sets the scene for this inspiration shoot. As you approach the château, you drive along a winding path that leads up the hill. What Jennifer Fox Weddings created at the top of that hill will take your breath away. Baskets of curated goods welcomed guests, filled with regional treats including a locally made jam, a bottle of Burgundian wine with a bespoke label, fresh fruit, a baguette, and a sweet note. The welcome gifts set the tone for the rest of the day, from the invitations by Crème de Papier to the music stand decked out in an explosion of blooms from Florésie. Franklyn K. Photography was there to beautifully capture every detail. Grab your passport and head to France in the full gallery.
From Jennifer Fox Weddings… Located in southern Burgundy, Château de Pierreclos – with a history dating back to the tenth century – boasts panoramic views of the village and vineyards below and features a glazed, multi-color roof, typical of Burgundian architecture. A big fan of Burgundy’s wines myself, I drew inspiration from the wine culture of the region while planning this editorial.
The welcome gifts set the tone for the decor of the day, as the invitations by Crème de Papier incorporated the Toile de Jouy in the custom envelope liners, and an illustrated map of the area highlighted the locations known for grapes and pears. The bride was the picture of elegance, as she walked down the ceremony aisle in the front courtyard of the château and said her “I Do’s” under the floral arch while guests kept comfortable with the tasseled, illustrated fans featuring the château.
The tabletop contrast of refined elements against the natural materials of wood, linen, and metal created an overall aesthetic of rustic elegance. Benjamin Kliber of Discotecnik closed the evening, DJing using what I think must be the most gorgeous music stand of all time, decked out in an explosion of blooms. Who knew DJ equipment could be so beautiful? Our full creative team ended the day with dancing, such a fun juxtaposition against the formal feel of the event, and truly cementing this editorial’s position as the one I will never forget.
