The wedding in “Crazy Rich Asians” was spectacular, so it comes as no surprise that the movie’s director would have an equally stunning soiree! Jon M. Chu and his bride Kristin teamed up with A Good Affair to create a garden party in Napa Valley full of classic-meets-modern details. Meaningful elements were the focus of the wedding weekend, like choosing the venue Meadowood Napa Valley due to its beautiful trees that share a name with the couple’s daughter, Willow. From Natalie at A Good Affair… Jon and Kristin came to me wanting to create a unique wedding that would bring together all their loved ones for an unforgettable destination wedding experience. The couple wanted relaxed elegance with white delicate blooms and lots of natural greenery.
On the wedding day, guests arrived on the croquet lawn at Meadowood greeted with artisan cocktails. Jon had this amazing vision to have a children’s gospel choir dressed in all white singing and escort the guests over to the ceremony. They performed during the ceremony and we were all moved to tears.
We created an incredible design with an al fresco tent for the reception. The highlight of the wedding reception was surprise performances from Jon and Kristin to each other. We worked with each of them to plan the elaborate performances choreographed by So You Think You Can Dance star Christopher Scott. They were both so surprised by one another and guests loved it!
