How One Couple Used Hundreds of Bistro Lights and Floral Installations to Transform Their Backyard Wedding

Today's backyard wedding planned by Rachael Ellen Events puts Father of the Bride to shame. For the ceremony, the beautiful bride and groom exchanged vows beneath a sprawling arbor brought to life with hundreds of lush blooms. Later, guests dined and danced the night away under rows of bistro lights in the garden - trust us, it looks even more dreamy than it sounds! Check out the full gallery, captured by Mary Claire Photography to watch the magic unfold.
From Rachael Ellen Events... Lauren and Johnny had planned a large wedding before the pandemic hit but rather than waiting, they opted to cut back on their guest list host a celebration with just their bridal party and families. Even though they scaled back on their guest count, they opted to keep all of the details they had been planning for their day. Their color palette was focused around soft shades of blue paired with neutrals and rose pink.
We transformed the bride's parents yard with hundreds of bistro lights, several large scale floral installations, and romantic rentals that elevated the space but created an inviting garden atmosphere. Ink & Press Co. Created the most stunning custom invitation suite complete with blue envelopes, a custom monogram, and vintage stamp set.
Lauren and Johnny were wed in an intimate ceremony under a lush floral arch in front of their family and friends. Guests were given a light blue paper fan to help with the summer heat and were serenaded by classic jazz music before and after. After the ceremony, guests were invited to a cocktail hour where Blended Table served pre-plated bite sized hors d'oeuvres so guests could enjoy appetizers in a more socially distanced way than a traditional passed hors d'oeuvres. After cocktail hour, guests were invited to the garden space to enjoy dinner and dancing. Instead of choosing one type of cuisine, the couple opted to serve all of their favorite foods. We had everything from sushi and noodles, to pasta and sliders! Dessert was an impressive 3-cake display and house made gelato - the perfect cool treat for a warm summer night. The guests enjoyed the night under the lights and they danced and celebrated as family.
