The picturesque Lake Tahoe setting, the delicate mauve and dusty purple palette, the bride’s effortlessly gorgeous lace gown… there’s just so much to ooh and ahh over in today’s lakeside wedding from Audere Events. From Janine Licare Photography… Aly and CJ’s summer Lake Tahoe wedding was filled with pretty mauve and dusty purple tones, stunning and lush florals, and a sailcloth tent with hanging lanterns, pitched under a redwood tree grove. When looking for a waterfront venue in Lake Tahoe, Gatekeeper’s Museum was the perfect spot.
Aly’s lush bouquet had mauve roses, small white garden roses, delicate white poppies, a variety of greenery, and several textured elements in the same mauve tones. Her dress was a fit and flare with a sheer crochet lace overlay. Their ceremony took place on the lakeshore underneath redwood trees. The decor included large concrete planters in a variety of shapes and sizes filled with florals.
At the cocktail hour, in lieu of escort cards, the guests’ names were hand calligraphed onto pink Himalayan salt shot glasses. As each guest found their shot glass, they were poured a shot of tequila! One of the couple’s favorite activities when hosting friends and family at home, is to take a shot of tequila together to kick off the evening. After their “I Do’s”, they wanted to include their at-home tradition into their reception.
The reception took place under a sailcloth tent and was arranged with a mix of long and round tables. Above the dancefloor were several large lanterns, some of which were made from nest-like branches and shaped into wooden hives. The lanterns were draped with greenery which tied the space into the forest around it. Reception tables held bright and bold floral arrangements, accented with lilac votives, and place settings included additional pops of dusty purples, blush and rose gold.
