How amazing does that sound? Head on over to the full gallery, captured by Janine Licare Photography to see how it all came together.
From Janine Licare Photography... The day before their wedding in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, Payal and Vince hosted their Sangeet "Fiesta" / Welcome Party at the Belmond Casa Sierra Nevada for all of their guests. As a San Francisco based couple, they wanted this Friday event to fully encompass the San Miguel de Allende experience and Mexican culture.
Payal and Vince merged their Indian heritage with Mexican traditions and celebrated the evening with a parade through town, including a mariachi band and "bride and groom" stilt walkers. The florals in the dining space were a bright mix of colorful garden roses, dahlias, mini cacti in terracotta pots, and freshly cut tropical fruit, including papaya.
Each name card was tied to a handblown glass heart. We photographed the first part of their portrait sessions while roaming the cobblestone streets of San Miguel de Allende. Payal wore a soft pink lehenga that beautifully complemented the pastel-painted buildings. Vince's ensemble matched hers. Their second outfit was bright and colorful and was a perfect fit for the high-energy evening that was ahead. The evening ended with a talent show competition, an homage to traditional Sangeets, where Payal and Vince's friends and family performed throughout the evening and several guests judged the acts. The performances included several dance numbers, original songs, and a karate act, to name a few.
