From Always Yours Events… Since March we’ve worked with couples around the world to postpone and change the course of their weddings due to the pandemic. These milestone celebrations have come to a sharp but temporary halt for many, and so our intention with this intimate wedding editorial was to show couples the beauty of the small wedding in a true, stunning light. With this editorial we wanted to give couples the encouragement and inspiration to host their celebrations with lower guest counts while investing in the exquisite details and customizations that prove a wedding, big or small, still carries on the same love story and legacy. The Greenery is an extraordinary new venue in New Hampshire that just opened its doors this year. With it’s all white interior and exterior with black matte accents such as Southern-inspired gas lanterns and modern gold fixtures, this venue is the epitome of charming and chic. While this venue can house up to 250 guests, we chose it for this intimate editorial to show how a large venue can house an intimate wedding with a little creativity. We dreamed up a garden inspired and romantic design that pushed the envelope just enough to be modern and distinctive, yet still balance a timelessness.
Our color palette incorporated beautiful painterly shades of dusty rose, pale blush and soft rose, nude, pale ash blue, a deep rich green, matte gold and a subtle hint of cognac. The stationery and invitation suite from Gus and Ruby Letterpress brought together the elements of a garden in an unexpected fashion, including green letterpressed invitations with accents of botanical elements in gold foil, a unique vellum wrap featuring a print including everything from blooms to tiny butterflies, and the most beautiful RSVP we’ve ever seen. And since attention to detail and guest experience was key for this design, we elevated guest favors and welcome baskets to include selections of local chocolate, a bottle of the couple’s favorite celebration champagne, beautiful artisan hand soap and a Tulieres candle with bottled matches. Our bride and groom, styled by our talented stylist Lorella of La Jolie Bride, stole the show in Arman’s custom suit (sans tie for a little more modern flair), and Elodie’s Marchesa gown with detachable sleeves from L’Elite. Elodie carried a stunning bouquet by Kerianne Nelson, which served as an accessory to her gown to further compliment the appliqué detail and ethereal sleeves. Elodie wore a pair of bow tied heels from Loeffler Randall, and drop floral earrings with pearl details. Her romantic makeup look was created by the team at Glamour Cosmetics, and her voluminous pony and late night chignon was created by Sarah of My Big Hair Day.
The main feature of this inspiration shoot was the guest table set for sixteen guests, overlooking the Greenery’s orchards. Designed with the floral artistry and talents of Kerianne Nelson, we created a modern circular pergola overgrown with florals to envelope the guest table and create a more intimate space for guests to enjoy dinner and conversation with each other. The circular pergola was covered with greenery and foraged foliage, along with accents of wild roses, garden roses and spray roses. Set underneath was a long oversized table with a stunning patterned linen from La Tavola and BBJ surrounded by Louis Chairs and rentals by PEAK Event Services, place settings featuring an embossed charger and gold rimmed coup plates, fine crystal stemware and gold matte flatware, and of course an array of romantic florals in various heights mixed with petal-colored taper candles in various heights and textures. To accent the place settings, the team at Gus and Ruby Letterpress created a beautiful petite menu card on deckled edge paper finished with a wax seal and deep green ribbon, which pulled in the greenery overhead for a cohesive look. This tablescape created a magical setting for guests within a larger space, aglow with candlelight and complete with a chef’s tasting menu that was customized to those guests in attendance. And finally, no wedding would be complete without a beautiful cake to compliment the design. The ruffled edge and hand painted cake by Nancy of Silver Whisk Bake Shop featured three petite tiers surrounded by florals and taper candles atop of a soft velvet blue linen. The entire day was impeccably captured by film photographer Elizabeth Laduca and cinematographer Greg Fisher of Willow Tree Films. Their work showcases this emotive design in the most gorgeous and dreamy light. Our vision was one that we hope will inspire couples to think outside the box when it comes to their wedding design. And we hope it will encourage couples who find themselves temporarily needing to pivot to embrace the beauty and personalization that the intimate wedding has to offer.
