A Colorful San Diego Wedding Day With Jaw-Dropping Ocean Views

This gorgeous couple tied the knot under a beautiful floral mandap created by TBD San Diego, complete with breathtaking Pacific ocean views. While Flora the Venue had the festivities going off without a hitch, the newlyweds danced the night away with their guests in a secluded garden reception brought to life by a colorful pastel palette. From Ariel Min Photography… Bhavika and Shivan’s gorgeous wedding weekend featured colorful pastel details against classic Southern California landscapes, from a beachside ceremony to a reception in a secluded garden. The weekend consisted of four major events attended by the couple’s family and friends from all over the world. On the night before the ceremony, the couple held a Sangeet ceremony at Flora in downtown San Diego, a unique indoor venue that features gorgeous lush California plants and greens all around its walls.

The evening was highlighted by singing and dance performances from family members. On the morning of the ceremony at Scripps Seaside Forum, the couple exchanged a first look against the blue Pacific Ocean dotted with morning surfers. For an hour before the wedding ceremony, the groom, his family and the rest of the wedding party danced through the baraat, also known as the groom’s procession, led by DJ Preet Bisla of VOX DJs. The ceremony took place under a beautiful floral Mandap designed by TBD San Diego, followed by a luncheon on the patio.

For the evening reception, the couple and their guests moved to Japanese Friendship Garden inside Balboa Park in San Diego, a secluded garden deep inside the park. The cherry blossom trees had started blooming already, which provided a gorgeous backdrop for newlywed portraits. Inside the ballroom, guests were guided to their tables by escort cards made out of hand-cut fabric swatches that matched the evening’s color schemes.

The couple’s delicate wedding cake, made by Food Network’s ‘Cake Wars’ champions Fab Cake Girls, illustrated a sunset over the ocean.

Guests were entertained all night with dancing, a newlywed couple’s game and heartfelt speeches. Plus, the UCSD Zor — the University of California, San Diego’s award-winning Bollywood/Fusion dance team — gave a dazzling performance towards the end of the night.
