From the planner, Simply Grand Weddings & Events… Marissa and Ezra’s wedding was truly full of faith, love, and laughter. They got married on Snake River Ranch, just a stones throw from Ezra’s family home with wide open Teton views and beautiful aspen groves. They find their inspiration in music and the mountains. Their foremost desires for their day were a great band (check!) and a beautiful, easy setting (check!). Everything was very relaxed and beautiful. It felt like one large family celebrating! Because their wedding fell on the Fourth of July weekend, they wanted to incorporate lots of American feeling touches like denim, used in their invitation suite and leather. We brought the hints of blue in throughout the wedding in different subtle ways.
Marissa wanted the landscape to be the star so Vanessa at Flue de V kept the beautiful florals and decor very classic and romantic with whites and greens and touches of blue here and there, utilizing flowers and grasses that felt wild and foraged but also thoughtfully arranged and lovely. Their traditional Jewish ceremony was held in the large green aspen grove on the property. After walking with his parents through the grove, down the aisle to “Walk the Line” Ezra waited under a gorgeous white floral Chuppah. Marissa crossed over the bridge and into the grove with her parents by her side to the song, “Yellow” by Cold Play played acoustically by a small ensemble in the trees. After grabbing a glass of champagne, the guests walked along the stream through the forest for the grand reveal of the reception site.
The sweeping green fields and Teton views are always such a wonderful surprise for guests. As guests entered the field for cocktails and appetizers, they were greeted by a large board holding the escort tags attached to rustic leather tassels that would later be transformed into a donut wall for dessert. Utilizing every space in a fun and functional way, we made sure guests could circulate between all of the bars and appetizers throughout cocktail hour while the band played outside. Marissa and Ezra practiced their first dance along the stream as they made their way to cocktail hour. Inside, the tent felt like a garden as abundant flowers and grasses surrounded the stage and the head table.
Marissa wanted lots of beautiful lighting and to bring the outside in. Lush green vines crept up the tent poles into the antler chandeliers and string lights criss-crossed above. The modern table settings by XOWYO lent an organic elegance to the romantic white and green arrangements and cups of wild grasses on each table. The hand painted watercolor table numbers were named after Marissa and Ezra’s favorite Teton peaks. Marissa wanted the floor plan to feel like a large family dinner but also have easy flow to the dance floor and to the outside of the tent. The meal was served family style, and keeping table top design impactful yet minimal for ease of service and passing was a task Vanessa at Fleur de V mastered. The timing of the event was free flowing with dancing from beginning to end so access to the bars and dance floor were key. This is something I enjoyed most about their day. I loved the open concept timeline! Much less regimented feeling and kept people guessing what’s next. Plus The Cowling Band was amazing so it would have been a crime to limit them to a few hours. Everyone danced the night away!
