From Taryn Grey Photography… The wedding took place at La Venta Inn, Palos Verde. It was a small destination wedding for a lovely couple from Texas. As stylish as Britny is she wanted a black and white themed wedding. Britny hired Weddings by Susan Dunne to help her tie her stylish and dream wedding together. She then knew she had to have Taryn Grey to capture a night to remember. There were so many beautiful details from the horseshoe altar which incorporated delphinium, snapdragon and lush roses and rounded type of blooms and a river of lush garden boxes down the aisle.
Reception tables were adorned with a mixture of low and elevated arrangements, vintage black pressed glassware and a mixture of tapered and votive candles which were provided by Royal Bee Flower and Co. They surprised guest with a small performance of Tahitian dancers to give a small taste of their where they’d be traveling for their honeymoon. They finished off the night a late night snack which was hand made pizza fired up in a ceramic stone oven.
The Meet Cute: The couple met at Aaron’s alma mater, Mizzou. Britny’s best friend was dating Aaron’s fraternity brother at the time. The two had a chance meeting while Britny was visiting her friend in the Summer. The rest is history and now after a couple years of dating they have decided to get married.
The Proposal: The couple took a trip together to their now favorite place, San Diego. Britny thought that the proposal was going to happen on their hike at Torrey Pines. Each time they would get to a look out point she was sure that it was going to happen. She even swears that she saw an outline of a ring in his pocket. When it didn’t happen that day she was a little thrown off. Fast forward to the next day when the two are in Palm Springs. They took the aerial tramway up the to the Mt. San Jacinto State Park. Britny thought it was odd because Aaron had a huge bulge in his jacket pocket. When she asked Aaron what it was, he told her that he brought an extra pair of socks because it was cold in the mountains. Needless to say she did not fall for that answer and had a pretty good idea that it was the ring box. Because neither of them did much research, Britny was completely unprepared for the 1 mile hike in the snow in her flip flops. They got to the first look out point and there was not much of a view, so of course Aaron did not want to propose there. Instead he insisted that Britny hike further to the next point, to ensure the perfect view. They finally got to the next spot and while Britny was enjoying the view, Aaron called her name for her to turn around. There Aaron was on one knee and ready to propose. Aaron said that he wanted to propose high up in the mountains so that they could be as close as possible to Britny’s recently deceased father, Randy. Neither of them remember much else of what was said, however they know that Britny said yes and that is all that matters.
