A Late September Wedding in New Hampshire Chock-Full of New England Charm

If you know, you know… there’s nothing sweeter than New England in the Fall. It’s the most romantic time of year to say your “I do’s”, surrounded by rollings hills and colorful foliage as far as the eyes can see. And today’s beautiful private home wedding in New Hampshire planned by Rebecca Rose Events is proof just that! Lance Nicoll’s gorgeous captures will transport you straight to autumnal paradise, check out the full gallery here!

From Rebecca Rose EventsSarah and Jake exchanged vows on the rooftop of her family’s home in Lyme, New Hampshire, overlooking an incredible view of the mountains and New England’s famous changing fall foliage. Since the home is built into the side of a mountain, the roof is covered with grass, which made for the most perfect space for an outdoor ceremony.

Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed tray-passed hors d’louvres, fresh locally-sourced cheeses, and an enviable collection of craft beers sourced from across the country – all chosen to represent the bride and groom’s favorites (and all the result of a behind-the-scenes effort that enabled Sarah’s mother to surprise them with this fun bar feature on the wedding day!)

After cocktail hour under an open sided sailcloth tent, guests transitioned into another sailcloth tent for a seated dinner reception, toasts, and dancing. Sarah and Jake desired to treat their guests to the very best of New England, so the wedding was scheduled around the changing fall foliage in late September. The color palette was designed to highlight copper, rose gold, auburn, and mustard tones, along with rich olive green and hints of cinnamon.

After a long search for the perfect patterned ties yielded nothing that anyone loved, we decided to create a custom pattern. Our design and production coordinator, Allison, painted a plaid pattern that incorporated the wedding palette with greenery (to mimic the smilax vine we used in the tent and on the chuppah structure) and was color matched to the bridesmaids’ cinnamon dresses. We sent the pattern to Knotty Tie Co. Who produced the fabric and made custom bow ties for the groomsmen, and Jake’s tie. We also used the pattern on the invitation suite, the menu cards, and in some of the printed materials for the welcome gift boxes.
