To the talented designers at Ampersand – you guys blew us away with every floral installation bringing us right back to those unbeatable Fall feelings. From Madix & CoLauren and Jesse met through a mutual friends 2014 New Year’s party at the Pig and Whistle bar in San Francisco. Fast forward 4 years, Jesse planned to propose to Lauren on the top of Haleakala volcano in Maui.

Plans changed when Lauren felt nauseous from the drive and then another couple got engaged right in front of them! Adaptable and care-free, Jesse went changed gears to a Plan B to propose at sunset their last night there. They missed sunset by a few minutes but Lauren said yes anyway! Such a testament to their love and easy going nature, always prioritizing love and kindness over all else.

They wanted their wedding to be warm, fun and organic. Truly the experience of their guests was top priority. As such, we created an abundant Autumn fete for Lauren and Jesse. Inspired by not only the stunning and fully operating Beltane Ranch, but also Lauren’s family’s passion for growing fruits, vegetables and beekeeping for honey. When Lauren mentioned her favorite color was ochre, I was all kinds of excited to curate a vibrant color palette and design around this hue that reflected her and Jesse’s energetic and generous personalities.

With the help of Ampersand, we produced several organic, fruitful and impactful displays from the welcome truck to the ceremony tree, and the seating chart to their dining tables. Everywhere the guests turned a fun, thoughtful vision awaited them just as infectious as our couple’s love for each other and vibrant personalities. One of my favorite vignettes, was the honey favors Lauren’s father produced from his own bees!
