From Rachael Ellen Events… This design was created for “A Destination Workshop” hosted by Rachael Ellen Events and Kenzie Victory Photography. Our design leads you through the full scope of a destination wedding from getting ready to the ceremony to the dinner to the day after brunch.
For this design, I was inspired by the French countryside. While France is home to many beautiful and historic buildings, often the most highlighted weddings are those at castle like châteaux with opulent, over the top designs. My muse for this design was a bride who was less concerned about making an over the top statement and more concerned with creating something that felt intimate, romantic, and true to the region.
With this in mind, we chose soft french blue, blush, gold, and dove grey as our color palette. The table featured a soft blue linen balanced with romantic dove velvet napkins. The vintage crystal glassware and french blue china is part of Château de Mairy’s own collection and created a very intimate feel. Paired with lush white blooms and handmade paper goods from Michaela McBride Calligraphy, the tablescape was romantic, relatable, and perfectly French.
Our bride wore two beautiful gowns. The first dress was a simple tulle tea length gown – perfect for getting ready or wandering the halls of her chateau. We opted to design a floral installation in her bedroom to create an added sense of romance. Her wedding gown is the masterpiece of Alon Livne. The off the should pleated detail made this gown the perfect fashion statement for a bride getting married just miles outside of Paris. Our groom wore a classic black tux to perfectly balance her fashion-forward look. Her hair was styled in a sleek and romantic updo with minimal bridal makeup to create an undeniable “french girl” glam. The cake itself was inspired but the texture and architecture of the brides gown – perfectly created by Paris local Synie.
Our day after wedding brunch design was inspired by the close, intimate feel you share after a lovely night of celebrating. We wanted to table to feel light, lush, and romantic to celebrate the new couple. Monica of Lettering by GRG created a beautiful paper suite to pair with the Chateau floral china – the perfect French country feel. Our bride wore a gorgeous off the shoulder champagne dress – a paired down version of her wedding gown. Our groom wore a classic French cut suit and loafers.
