Hidden away in one of the world’s largest cities sits The New York Botanical Gardens, an urban oasis filled with lush flowers and greenery. Deanna and Matthew knew it was the perfect place to celebrate their love as it was right across the street from where they first met. For their elegant reception, they brought the outdoors in and transformed the ballroom into a luxurious garden beautifully photographed by Bashful Captures. Natural and wild floral arrangements took life on tables, while the dance floor itself was wrapped in golden vines. The full gallery is a must-see for all the pretty little details.
From the bride… We got married in the Fordham University Church. Fordham will forever hold a special place in our hearts. It’s the place where we first met almost ten years ago, and the place where we became husband and wife.
Matt proposed to me in a garden, so it was only fitting that our reception, too, took place in a garden. The New York Botanical Garden sits across the street from Fordham University – a sanctuary of flowers and greenery in the middle of the Bronx.
We wanted the reception ballroom to be an extension of the surrounding garden: our dance floor was wrapped in gold vines, and our flower arrangements were natural and wild, comprised of trailing greenery, garden roses, ranunculus, anemone, and pampas grass. Our wedding day was the best day of our lives.
