Buckle up, because this San Diego wedding brings the wow! Guests began the celebration being dazzled by a lush green wall at cocktail hour. With one ring of a bell, a white-gloved hand appeared from inside it offering champagne to party-goers! Next up, a walk to the outdoor reception space which was the picture of luxury. Tall black candles, lush burgundy floral garlands, and hints of gold turned tables into masterpieces. From the bride… Rancho Valencia Resort was only the second venue we visited and we both knew instantly that was where we wanted to get married. We chose the large lawn to have our reception and I was so excited because it was a blank slate that we could make our own.

I had this vision for our seating chart that was very large and could stand on its own. I worked with our paper goods vendor, Whimsique, to create a large board but we were struggling to think of a way to display it. I went to my dad with the plan and he said not to worry that he would build a stand in our steel shop.

I wanted a mix of dark moody colors with lots of burgundy and black coupled with pops of blush and green. We are very social people who love to throw parties so we wanted a very over the top fun atmosphere.

The music was also very important to us. We wanted an amazing band that would have people dancing all night. Our band, Gold Standard, definitely delivered and we love hearing our friends say it was the best band they’d ever seen.
