When an event designer creates the ultimate inspiration shoot, based on the natural beauty of Portugal, everyone wins. Julie of Kruse & Vieira Events drew from her time amongst the vineyards and cork grove trees of the Douro Valley to create outdoor wedding inspiration that’s a feast for the eyes. The combination of warm earth tones with textural elements, artfully captured by Bonnie Sen, is not to be missed. View the full gallery for all the charming details.
From Kruse & Vieira Events… With this shoot, we wanted to illustrate that rustic can be synonymous with sophisticated and modern if done well. We chose Meridian House because the juxtaposition of such a formal classic setting with more natural elements can work so well together.
Initial inspiration came from my own experiences in the Douro Valley in Portugal where my husband’s family is from. Olive green, burnt sienna and soft browns grounded our palette, and pattern inspiration came from the Portuguese azulejos tiles.
For the tablescape, again as a nod to the azulejos, we pulled in a printed linen from La Tavola Linens, but kept the color neutral. On top, we layered natural elements and texture with more modern, sleek china and flatware from White Glove Rentals to create the ultimate outdoor wedding inspiration.
