The Many Subtle yet Special Details Honoring the Bride's Late Mother Will Bring You to Tears
Sometimes a wedding is so special, it feels like no words can do it justice - that's how we feel about Kari and Cam's gorgeous Lake Tahoe wedding. Every detail of their day was so thoughtfully chosen to honor Kari's mother, Rosemary. Her dream was for their guests to feel her presence through the design elements of their day, and Jenn Lazon, their amazing wedding planner, made sure of just that. From Mandy Ford Photography... Not only were the details to this wedding stunning, the bride chose to honor her mother, Rosemary, throughout the entire day with subtle notes of detail. Kari and her mother were extremely close, before she lost her battle with cancer in 2011.
Rosemary has been described fun-loving, outgoing, and loved by everyone. She had no problem being the center of attention, and was truly the glue that held her family together. When Kari spoke with me briefly about her mother, I couldn’t help but draw similarities from Kari’s own magnetic presence. There’s clearly no question that the apple hasn’t fallen far from the tree. When first deciding to plan their wedding, Kari dreamed of being wed in a rose garden, so that she was surrounded by her mother’s presence. Since there aren’t many rose gardens in Lake Tahoe, the team at Love and Lupines put together the most lush, romantic, rose-filled, garden-inspired altar I have ever seen.
After the ceremony, guests were invited to light a candle in honor of Rosemary. What a beautiful thing it was to see. The subtle hints of roses continued into the reception. Each place setting displayed a sprig of Rosemary wrapped in lush crushed-mauve velvet napkins. Cam’s Swiss heritage was intertwined into the event as well where they had an array of the best chocolates I've ever tasted. They couldn’t have blended Kari’s rose-filled vision with the place Cam grew up any more perfectly. It was a true reflection of both of their styles.
