Saying I Do in the British Countryside sounds absolutely magical to me and once you see these photos by Julie Michaelsen Photography, you will think so too! Bride and Groom tied the knot at The Manor House, which was covered in elegant ivory florals by Jill Jeffries and along with Planned for Perfection was the picture-perfect backdrop for all of the fun and energy to be had! From dancing the night away with The Function Band to a special appearance by the brides’ cousin, you could feel ALL of the love throughout their special day!
From Julie Michaelsen Photography…ALL weddings are special but this wedding was one with so much energy, spirit, and joy, as well as a lot going on in terms of the day itself! The wedding of Olivia and David took place in the quintessentially British countryside of The Cotswolds, and to say it was eventful is an understatement!
From The Function Band who literally got every single guest dancing throughout the courses of the meal, on the tables, long into the evening, to the brides’ cousin who serenaded the couple with a rendition of ‘Kiss From A Rose’ as a surprise, to the grooms’ grandmother who lead everyone in grace before the meal, not forgetting the incredible gospel choir (which the bride herself actually sings in) performing throughout the ceremony. The couple added in elements of their heritage with Caribbean signature cocktails & a steel band to welcome guests at the Friday welcome dinner. From the glitter bar to the perfect executed choreographed first dance and not to forget the heartwarming father-daughter dance! Although rain threatened to turn this day into a very different wedding day we were rewarded by glorious sunshine just in time for our sunset photos.
About Julie Michaelsen Photography…I am a fine art wedding photographer based in London but covering Europe as well as the UK. I create timeless, heartfelt and elegant imagery of some of the most important and life-defining hours of my client’s lives. I aim to not only chronicle chapters and milestones but capturing subtler moments of joy, the meting of eyes, delirious laughter catching like wildfire. I love bearing witness to these moments because family, relationships and connections are so important to me and the why of my business. With Danish & German heritage, it’s part of the culture I was born into and informs my approach to most things in life as well as my business.
I love bearing witness to the excitement and the joy of a bride during her preparation before the ceremony. I love it when weddings bring out the very best of my couples. I love it when couples get lost in each others embrace during the couple photoshoot
I love it when I see the parents of the bridal couple touched with emotion, overcome with pride & joy during the ceremony. They are often positioned so that I can see them through the gap between the bride and groom and it’s one of my favorite moments to capture. That single tear rolling down the mother of the bride’s cheek, which the bride will not notice until she sees the photos. I love listening to the stories which surface during the speeches, from the touching childhood stories of the bride from her father, the cheeky and often hilarious regalement of the grooms’ younger antics by his best man/men. I love the look of the bride when her father stands to make his father of the bride’s speech and she looks at him in a tender moment when his voice wavers.
