Call Me Madame planned the entire tropical wedding weekend to perfection while the bride stunned in not one but TWO gorgeous designer gowns. Keep on reading for all the must-know details!

What did you envision your wedding being prior to planning?

From the Bride… We both love to travel and knew right away we wanted to have a destination wedding with breathtaking views. Bali has always had a special place in our hearts as it was our first vacation together in Asia while we were dating long-distance. Eric lives in Hong Kong and at the time I lived in Vancouver. Being on separate continents and an entire ocean apart Bali was the perfect romantic location for us to spend time together. During that first trip we fell completely in love with the magical atmosphere and majestic views.

What was your color palette and your style vision?

We always wanted a lot of pastel colours and whites, something very island chic, relaxed and beautiful. We were looking for a romantic garden wedding with the tropical vibes of Bali.

Why did you choose this wedding venue?

Ungasan Clifftop Resort is an incredible location and ticked all our boxes. It has a stunning view, it offers a lot of privacy, and it has a lot of greenery and beautiful diverse landscaping. We wanted to spend as much time with our wedding guests as possible which meant that an afterparty venue was a mandatory requirement. Sundays Beach Club served that purpose perfectly and was a great surprise and final reveal once the reception finished. The villa accommodations were a relaxing oasis for our wedding weekend and the in-house kitchen which catered our wedding was excellent.

What unique elements or DIY details did you include?

We wanted to incorporate some of our core values and tastes into our wedding details. It’s one of the key reasons we chose Alice Dentan (Call Me Madame) as our wedding planner as she creates unique weddings tailored to each couple. My husband and I try to be particularly thoughtful whenever we plan an event or buy a gift, we always try to put in that additional effort to think of meaningful details. We brought this same value to working with Alice to produce an exceptional wedding. This was incorporated into our music choices, design elements, etc to create an adventure for our guests. We took our guests on a journey of tears, laughter, dancing, three cakes and one macaroon tower and four stunning venue reveals in one night! It was the wedding of our dreams and such fun experience for everyone.

What was your favorite moment? Your favorite detail?

Our wedding planner Alice Dentan (Call Me Madame) did an incredible job so it’s hard to pick only one favourite moment from our wedding. The most meaningful and emotional moment was walking down the aisle and seeing our vision after a year of planning realized. The stunning ceremony setup overlooking a clifftop view, the gorgeous florals, and the live acoustic duet performing a cover of Guns n Roses – Sweet Child O’ Mine. Seeing everything come together and seeing my amazing husband waiting brought me tears of joy.

Tell us about your flowers, your gown, your favors for your guests, your cake, etc…

We were so lucky that Natalie Palmer (Paper Diamonds) agreed to be our florist. Her taste is exquisite and combined with Alice Dentan (Call Me Madame) they exceeded our expectations. Our bouquets were one-of-a-kind, just stunning and amazing to see our vision board realized. I was lucky enough to wear two beautiful dresses. My ceremony dress was a traditional sweetheart fitted gown with beautiful scalloped lace. I worked with Bisou Bridal in Vancouver to pair it with the perfect earrings, veil and custom off-the shoulder sleeves. It was my dream ceremony dress, I’m still absolutely in love. I really wanted to be comfortable at our reception, to be able to dance easily and to enjoy our wedding food so I purchased a second gown with a completely different neckline and silhouette. The second dress was so light and comfortable, I finished the night very late at Sundays Beach Club sitting on the tulle of my reception dress listening to the ocean waves. We were very concerned that purchasing favours would contribute to one-time-use plastics and were very thoughtful about wanting a sustainable option. Alice Dentan (Call Me Madame) recommended an excellent locally made option – bamboo straws with pipe cleaner and a custom cloth cover. My husband and I both agreed we didn’t want a traditional multi-tiered wedding cake. We found an inspiration photo for multiple individual cakes and knew that’s exactly what we wanted. It was one of the most popular reveals of the whole night, I don’t think I’ve ever seen so many wedding guests so excited to eat cake!

What is one piece of advice that you could give brides-to-be ?

Enjoy. Every. Moment. Live in the present on your wedding day, and don’t sweat the small things. Soak in the happiness and joy surrounding you, it’s such a beautiful feeling.
