After seeing their stunning rehearsal dinner, we could only imagine how gorgeous their wedding would be – and boy, did it exceed our exceptions! The bride is Korean and the groom is Indian, so with the help of Davia Lee, they were able to blend their cultures perfectly while still wowing us with their chic, minimalist decor. They let Mother Nature be their inspiration for the ceremony design, with enchanting floral and greenery from Camellia Floral Design growing up the towering trees. Later, guests ended the night dancing under the stars at their al fresco reception. Check out the full gallery from the always lovely Jen Huang to see all the magic unfold.
From photographer, Jen Huang… The moment I met Kate and Suril, I could tell they were deeply in love. Their wedding day was full of knowing glances and sweet tete-a-tetes. There’s nothing more beautiful than true love, and I’m not trying to be cheesy!
Kate and Suril’s wedding was a celebration of everything meaningful to them: culture, design and their guests. Kate’s background is Korean and Suril is Indian. With a beautiful Sangeet and a Korean dance performance the night before Kate and Suril continued the tribute by bringing in carved mallard ducks (a symbol of true love) and Indian prayer beads into their ceremony details.
Kate and Suril beautifully wove their traditions seamlessly with their modern aesthetic. Choosing Sunstone Villa, which has the ability to look both rustic and stark and modern at the same time, they bridged their cultures with chic, minimalist design elements – simple white invitations, white and gold seating at their cocktails, clean and bright florals at their tables, and of course elevated, high end food and drink. Their cosmopolitan taste was reflected throughout the entire day – including Kate’s beautiful Oscar De La Renta Dress, and their sleek Santa Barbara Speedster getaway car.
Happy tears were shed at precious moments, and Kate and Suril beamed with happiness while holding hands throughout the night. One of my favorite moments was their choreographed dance number that surprised all the guests! This couple has it all, looks, taste, talent and love.
