Glitz, glam and Parisian-inspired… that’s the vibe that Rikki Marcone Event Design and Paula Visco crafted in today’s slice of wedding inspiration. Yet, there’s a subtle earthy, organic touch in the floral design and details like the stationery that soften out the edges and pull you in. It’s proof that blending styles is always a good idea. From Paula of Paula Visco Photography and Rikki of Rikki Marcone Event Design… As long-time fans of Cluny Bistro, we were always inspired by its rustic Parisian decor. This inspiration led us to design a wedding editorial within this gorgeous space. Cluny Bistro utilizes luxurious blues, exposed brick, light woods and marble accents to bring their sophisticated, European cafe feel to life. Their baroque light fixtures, ornate ceiling decor and bustling open kitchen are central to the Cluny experience.
This editorial took place in the event space of the venue that features blue, intricate, country-inspired wall panels. We leveraged this blue with complementary orange and cream tones to create an antiquated, relaxed feel.
The invitation suite by Ink & Aisle, tableware by Plate Occasions and cake by Staij & Co. were purposely modernized to juxtapose old with new. The engagement ring by Meg Lizabet Bespoke Jewellery, bridal headpiece, earrings, wedding gown from Sash & Bustle + bridal hair and makeup by Nicole Grittani Artistry reflected the old world charm we wanted to preserve. The groom was wearing a hopsack shawl lapel dinner jacket wool Ivory made from Dormeuil fabric, accompanied with a white cotton pleated Fly front placket tuxedo shirt and adorned with Reversible gold and pearl DAVIGNON cufflinks. The tuxedo trouser were simple and elegant made from Loro Piana super black 150’s wool. The handmade black silk velvet bow tie was designed to match the velevet tuxedo slippers. The finished touch was the silk printed diamond pattern handkerchief for the breast pocket of the dinner jacket. All garments and accessories are entirely handmade by DAVIGNON.
The flowers by Rikki Marcone were our opportunity to incorporate colour into this shoot. Neutrality was not the goal. We incorporated a ton of texture in the arrangements to contrast the soft tableware. Our colour selection continued through two-toned candle decor. The ceremony featured a rounded arch with a natural, untouched look. The bouquet, boutonniere and centrepieces continued this natural and relaxed feel.
Paula Visco captured the details with her signature bright and airy touch – truly accentuating the colour and vibrancy of this shoot while still honouring the soft, feminine details.
