A Behind the Scenes Look Into an Intimate Wedding Photography Workshop
We often feature the resulting beauty of wedding workshops, but today we're getting a beautiful behind the scenes look of one—Le Collectif, crafted by Amanda K Photography, Maria Lamb and Kaleb Norman James Design. Set at the sprawling Kestrel Park, this vendor dream team took in 13 amazing attendees for three days of learning and creativity. Feast your eyes on the beauty below!
From Kaleb Norman James Design... I remember getting a call from Amanda asking if I wanted to do a workshop together. Initially I thought she meant designing her workshop and I was flattered - when I immediately responded with a resounding yes, I think she knew I didn't quite get it. When she explained further that she wanted us to co-host photography & design workshop, simultaneously, my answer wasn't quite as resounding! But if you've ever met Amanda, she's one of the sweetest on the planet, so couldn't say no! Plus, she had the brilliant idea of bringing Maria along with us, so how could I not?
The idea behind Le Collectif was to bring photographers and designers together in a beautiful setting, where we could all learn with each other, grow creatively and be challenged to think outside the box while having the support and encouragement of likeminded creatives all around. 13 attendees came together from around the world to the beautiful rolling hills Santa Ynez and over 3 days, we shared our stories, our techniques & methods, our ideas and more than anything else, our hearts in a way that was meant to inspire!
We had a series of classes taught by the 3 of us together, along with the Summer Watkins, creator of The Mrs Box, as well as track-specific classes and 1:1's with each hosts. The classes culminated in 3 styled shoots where design attendees got to choose a theme and create a tablescape from the ground up- from the linens, to the china, the centerpiece to the chairs. All tables, bouquets & details were created by the design attendees, then shot by the photography attendees under the direction of Amanda, Maria & myself. Seeing 13 strangers come together the first night was so exciting, but seeing these same 13 all leave as friends and future co-vendors of one another was more rewarding than anything!
