Modern Minimalist Wedding Inspiration That Proves Less Is More

This contemporary style shoot that took place at The Modern Bride, planned by As You Wish Weddings, is simplicity and minimalism at its best. The minute we laid eyes on the bride’s dotted Divine Atelier gown combined with Forever Wildfield’s bleached, organic bouquet we were instantly in love. The chic tablescape is complete with three of our favorite things: marble, gold flatware and textured velvet linen. From As You Wish Weddings… For this creative shoot, we were inspired by the idea that less is more. Keeping to a neutral colour palette of white, grey, and gold tones across all elements, we were able to create a vibe that felt modern, clean, and sophisticated, yet warm and inviting at the same time.

The right venue was vital in setting the tone for this shoot, so we knew it had to be The Modern Bride – a gorgeous wedding dress store in Guelph, Ontario with it’s high ceilings, white walls, and plenty of natural light. For the tablescape, we wanted the florals to feel organic and filled with uncommon elements like bleached Italian ruscus, lunaria, frilly white tulips, and bunny tail grass. Place settings included gold-rimmed marble chargers and gold flatware that paired beautifully with the minimalist stationery and textured velvet linen.

Instead of having just one cake, we featured a trio in varying size, each with different yet complimentary design elements. Keeping the ceremony space minimal, with floral arrangements on a larger scale but in similar composition to the table designs, allowed the bride’s stunning “Dot” dress by Divine Atelier to shine.
