An Epic Mountaintop Affair at Vail Wedding Deck

Scenic mountaintop weddings with endless views of mother nature’s beauty never cease to amaze us. But why we fell for this gorgeous day had nothing to do with the scenery – it was the sheer happiness and undeniable love between this stunning bride and her handsome groom. From Calluna Events… It was a lovely August day and Liz + Sammy said “I Do” at the top of Vail on the wedding deck (views for days!) The guests were treated to a ride up the gondola to witness the beautiful couple get married. The reception took place at the Sonnenalp Hotel and the staff opened the dinning room ceiling during dinner so it was an open air reception which was amazing.

They both love coffee and Liz wanted to be sure their happy hour included a coffee cart! The Sonnenalp Hotel worked to source Liz & Sammy’s favorite Philz coffee from San Francisco. Their design was very neutral, clean, and masculine. We worked to incorporate natural elements with wooden farm tables, wood & metal table numbers, and sharp, geometric paper goods.

Every detail was simple, yet could stand alone. The rounded ceremony arch with simple greenery was one of our favorite statements! As a part of their first dance, Liz and Sammy had all their guests join them and their families as they danced to a traditional Sudanese song (where Sammy’s family is from). It was a great way to get everyone out on the dance floor!
