Can we talk about boathouse weddings for a sec? They’re kind of the best of both worlds if you ask me. Waterfront, check. Charm, check. City vibe, check. Well, the latter is definitely the case for this Brooklyn affair at Prospect Park Boathouse! Jing and Chiyoon called on Brilliant Event Planning to elevate their Big Day, while Sophie Kaye and Elysium Productions documented every detail and every smile so beautifully. From Brilliant Event Planning… Jing and Chiyoon got married on a perfect July day in Brooklyn at the Prospect Park Boathouse! They first got ready at The Lotte NY Palace. Both the bride and the groom had two wedding day looks. The groom wore a classic black tux for the ceremony and then changed into a white tux for the reception. The bride wore a ballgown and veil for the ceremony and then changed into a simpler dress for dancing.
The day had oodles of special details! The color palette was grey, green, ivory, and a touch of blush, which complemented the green tiled ceiling of the boathouse. The menus were custom and printed directly onto cloth napkins. The escort card display was designed with wax seal, deckled edge escort cards with gold calligraphy. At each place setting, guests had a small gift waiting for them – rosé gummies with hand calligraphy on ribbons for place cards. Gifting candy is a Chinese wedding tradition!
Poppies and Posies decked out the staircase in a cascading floral treatment complete with pillar candles, which gave the whole room a romantic glow in the evening! They also designed modern, lush floral tablescapes, utilizing gold brushed vessels to coordinate with the gold flatware from borrowed BLU. During dancing, guests had the opportunity to get a fashion-style sketch of them in their gowns and everyone went home with a keepsake piece of artwork!
