3 Ways To Infuse a Modern-Vintage Vibe Into Your Wedding Day

If you’re going for a vintage vibe but want to avoid having your wedding look like it’s straight from the 1950’s… we’ve got a few tricks up our sleeve for you today! Paired with this gorgeous photo shoot from Kaleb Norman James Design and Michael Radford, it’s ‘modern vintage’ at it’s best and I don’t doubt you’ll want to borrow a few inspiring details for your own fete.

The Invitations

Embrace calligraphy and torn edges! To customize, include a monogram or wedding logo, floral details, wax seals and vintage stamps like La Happy Design did here.

Effortless Vintage Style

Vintage fashion choices don’t have to include wearing your grandmother’s wedding dress. Layer on the lace detailing and pair with a lengthy mantilla veil. For your groom, think casual cool with a tweed coat atop a gingham shirt and contrasting navy pants.

A Timeless Table

Layer in vintage tabletop decor, taper candles and gold-rimmed glassware, but keep things classically modern with statement seating. Our trick for avoiding that cluttered feel—go neutral with your base table decor and incorporate color with your florals.

From Michael RadfordWhen you picture your wedding, most people’s first thought isn’t a retired dairy farm. But when the once-was farm turned into a sprawling estate filled with rose gardens and a tree lined street, straight rom a Nicholas Sparks film, you begin to take notice. Every spring, these trees bloom with the most beautiful pink flowers and stretch on as far as the eye can see. This was ultimately the inspiration for this shoot. The estate’s property was full of Southern charm and regal gardens, perfect for an alfresco dinner amidst the towering trees. The blooming flowers of the trees inspired the color palette and was accented with soft, warm neutrals and rich gold metallics. We wanted the invitation suite to feel hand written, and old-world, embracing our tone-on-tone palette, while the gowns & accessories were rich in texture & detail, bringing everything together.
