Elegant Burgundy Wedding at Bride's Family Home in Sauvigny-les-Bois, France

Admittedly, this wedding feature took me twice as long to put together than usual. There is such a thing as having too many beautiful photos to work with, and I thankfully accredit that to my friend Joel Serrato and the incredible planning team that is Fete in France. I selected some of my very favourite moments from this soirée dripping in charm, but I urge you to have a look at the entire gallery before clicking off. Oh, and do not miss the film from Studio Artifice, exactly three minutes in is pure sweetness followed by the happiest tears.

From Fete in France... When Constance & Nick decided they were going to get married it was a foregone conclusion that the wedding would take place at Constance’s family home in Burgundy, France. This lovely property was the ideal setting for the 4 days of gourmet food and festivities with 150 of their closest friends and family.

The first evening kicked off with a welcome cocktail reception where guests were asked to come dressed in white to match the ‘White Nights’ theme, a bride’s family favorite movie from the 1980’s starring Mickail Baryshnikov & Gregory Hines.

Nick, a native of Texas, and Constance a champion horsewoman wanted to incorporate the spirit of Texas into the weekend. There was a tipi village installed on the property for friends to ‘glamp’. Saturday during the day was full of games which included a board games, a casino and food trucks to cater lunch.

That evening there was a Texas BBQ rehearsal dinner complete with brisket and all the ‘fixins’ hosted under large tipi tents with wooden farm tables named after all the couple’s favorite restaurants, a live country band and longhorn-themed dessert buffet.

As we all know there is so much history in France and the small picturesque French village has a 12thcentury Priory partially in ruins but that just exudes charm and character. As a girl Constance had seen artistic performances put on here so it seemed the natural location for the ceremony. Ballerinas dancing to classical music welcomed guests and set a romantic tone for the ceremony in the intimate candlelit chapel filled with greenery and florals.

After the ceremony the bride & groom made a getaway in a vintage British racing green Morgan up to the house for champagne cocktails. The ballerinas then led guests from cocktail hour to the bamboo tent where guests dined on a gourmet dinner paired with fabulous local wines. A spectacular fireworks display set to the couples favorite songs capped off dinner and kicked off the dance party with live band by Elan Artists.

After the band performance guests were invited to an after party in the vaulted cellars of the chateau where Constance’s father used to tell her and her siblings ghost stories as a kid. The entrance was decorated as a tunnel of lights where a DJ spun tunes and guests partied late into the night. It was an epic celebration to remember!
