French Garden Wedding in Omaha at Happy Hollow Country Club

As I sit here wrapped in my favorite faux fur blanket warding off the early winter chill, this July wedding designed by Lovestruck Events is warming my soul. From the Bride’s stunning strapless number to the French garden-style details to the signature ice cream dessert (best. idea. ever.)—it is summer wedding goodness wrapped up into one pretty package captured by The Mullers.

From Lovestruck EventsEmily and Joey were married on a surprisingly cool July day. The bride wore a Monique Lhuiller gown, and the groom wore a custom black suit. We selected various Jenny Yoo floor-length gowns in Serenity Blue for the bridesmaids.

The clear-top tent which was used for both cocktail hour and dancing was the heart of the couple’s french garden-inspired celebration. The tent was draped in gray fabric and featured a six foot wide crystal chandelier. A grand lattice structure was welded on the front of the tent and expertly adorned with confederate jasmine to add to the garden ambiance. The seating assignment display was arranged on linen-backed frames with custom vellum pockets for each escort card. A free-standing bar and vintage furniture lounge created an inviting atmosphere inside the tent.

The dining room inside Happy Hollow Country Club featured light blue velvet linens mixed with patterned blue linen. Gray taper candles and lush blush and ivory centerpieces elevated the tablescape design. After dinner was served, guests moved backed to the tent for dancing, ice cream, and a sparkler farewell.

Interview with the Bride…

What did you envision your wedding being prior to planning?

I always dreamed of a classic, timeless summer wedding. My fiancé and I love being outside so I knew that I would want some part of the wedding outdoors.

What was your color palette and your style vision?

We decided on a French garden theme with lots of creams, whites, and greens. I was indecisive on light blue or blush for the bridesmaid dresses and finally decided after seeing the color swatches. The light blue worked seamlessly with our French Garden dream wedding.

What unique elements or DIY details did you include?

Our dogs are a huge part of our life and we wanted to have them included in someway. We decided to have cookies shaped like our dogs in the welcome bags. The perfect, sweet way to include them! Another unique element was incorporating our wedding crest inside my wedding gown. We also offered ice cream to cool guests off from the hot July night – complete with a custom flavor Joe and I created (vanilla ice cream with oreos, graham crackers, chocolate chunks, and brownies).

What was your favorite moment? Your favorite crafted detail?

My favorite crafted detail was everything to do with our tent! Dancing took place outside in a clear tent so we could dance under the stars. The inside of the tent was draped in fabric complete with a large chandelier. It was absolutely breathtaking! I also loved the outside of the tent: lush flowers in large plinth and urns and lattice draped in greenery. The entire day was a dream and it’s extremely hard to pick favorite moments because I would say every little thing, but if I had to pick it would be walking down the aisle and seeing Joe at the altar, taking our vows, and dancing the night away in the beautiful tent.

Tell us about your flowers, your gown, your favors, your cake, etc.

Flowers: Flowers arrangements were full and lush with a base of neutral tones and accents of blush. Flowers included: roses, hydrangeas, scabiosa, jasmine vine, camellia foliage, and more.

Gown: I went into dress shopping with an open mind and tried on all silhouettes, designers, and styles. I fell absolutely in love with an a-line, strapless gown made of 100% silk gazar. The skirt is tufted with unique structure and a 5 foot long train. I felt amazing wearing this elegant gown.

Favors: Guests received a gift bag filled with goodies when they checked into their room at our hotel block. We wanted to give a thankful gesture to those who traveled to be a part of our day without breaking the bank. The gift bags included popcorn, nuts, water bottles, and custom cookies shaped like our dogs, along with wedding details and a thank you note.

Cake: We had a five-tier vanilla cream cake with European buttercream frosting and filling. The cake was simple but beautiful with knife-textured frosting topped with fresh flowers and greenery.

What is one piece of advice that you could give brides-to-be?

Enjoy every second of the wedding planning process and wedding day. I highly suggest hiring a wedding planner so you, your significant other, and family can truly enjoy every moment of the special day.
