Contemporary Red Wedding Inspiration at West Edge in New York City

Is it too early to think about Valentine’s Day? For those of you who are saying I do in February, probably not! It’s just a short couple of months away. If you’re tossing around the idea of classic reds, this one is for you loves. And the trick to not going overboard with red? From Lindsay with Simply Sunshine Events… In a neutral yet contemporary setting, we created this look to exhibit an edgy, modern yet minimalistic style with a high focus on textures, natural elements and repetitive design themes. The inspiration for this event design was drawn from the simplicity and complexity of a violin. The soft curves yet strong lines, the melodies it produces… a clean, vibrant and provocative sound. The design sense is a cross between mid-century and Scandinavian sensibilities all the while being softened with organic elements. We did this through the use of lush florals paired with details with slim profiles and refined accents – harder lines relaxed through the use of more delicate textures

We celebrated this inspiration by layering a limited color palette – various shades of white and sultry reds, accented by brass and wood accents for the most impact. By focusing on just a couple of colors, we reveled in the art of restraint while exuding a fashion-forward style.
