Rustic Meets Glam at This Devil’s Thumb Ranch Wedding

Sometimes I wish we could grab hold of the Fall season and make it stay here forever, along with the inexplicable magic of fall weddings… but for now, we’re savoring every last bit! Today we’re sharing a gorgeous Rocky Mountain wedding captured Laura Murray Photography and planned by Milk Glass Productions that is the definition of “ranch glam” (can we make this a thing please?!) This gorgeous day is complete with blooming dahlias in shades of pink from Siloh Floral, glittering marquee lights and the cutest golden retriever we just want to squeeze through the screen. From the Bride… Rachel and Zach are college sweethearts. They met by learning to scuba dive at Rollins College in Winter Park, FL. They immediately bonded over live music, traveling the world and enjoying some good ‘ol southern food. Zach is a New Orleans Native and Rachel, a Florida native. They now live in Denver, Colorado with their dashingly handsome golden retriever, Louie. You can now find them skiing the Colorado Rockies in winter or enjoying a Red Rocks show in the summer with friends.

After 7 years of dating, Zach and Rachel got engaged on a snowy April day at The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs, CO. Rachel’s secret wedding Pinterest board was now a dream ready to become reality! They knew they wanted to enjoy their engagement and not rush into planning, so they took a year and a half to carefully plan their dream wedding in the Colorado Rockies. After choosing date in the fall on September 30th, they knew the venue at Devil’s Thumb Ranch in Tabernash, Colorado had it ALL! In close proximity to Denver, their friends and loved ones could enjoy a destination wedding only 1. 5 hours from the city, while still feeling worlds away from ordinary life.

The Ranch had the elegant, romantic and rustic Colorado atmosphere they were looking for. Our wedding planner Carly was a bride’s dream come true, she’s a wonder woman who can make anything possible. She was with us from the start and became a good friend along the way. Her careful attention to detail and concern for our each and every need was irreplaceable. We couldn’t have done it without her!

Zach and I tired hard to stay true to ourselves and really make our wedding day unique and meaningful for everyone. Our most important elements were 1) great live music! 2) beautiful venue and atmosphere 3) gourmet food that represents our roots. That’s us in a nutshell. Simply Irresistible, our band from Atlanta, GA made the party a night to remember forever! Everyone, and i mean everyone, danced till midnight- nonstop! The design and decor by Siloh Floral Artistry and Eclectic Hive was incredible…. Something from a fairytale.

Our photographer Laura Murray was a rockstar and captured our entire day flawlessly, while pregnant with twins!! After all the dreaming, pinning, planning, and tasting our big day was here. The weekend was planned perfectly, from the intimate, romantic family dinner in John L’s wine cellar, a welcome pig roast bbq at Axel’s pavilion for all the guests, horse back ride through the aspens, girls spa day at the Ranch Creek Spa, boys golf excursion at Pole creek golf club, and of course the wedding day! A farewell brunch was a perfect ending to a long weekend eating drinking and dancing with loved ones.
