Bringing a Rich, Fall Color Palette to a Bali Wedding at Amanusa

Fall and Bali aren’t a common duo but one look at this day so beautifully captured by Erich McVey + a film by AXIOO Bali and you are going to forget that tropical locales and stunning autumnal color palettes don’t usually go hand in hand. Not to mention that this affair was planned in a mere two months (!!!) The awesome team of vendors including design by Flying Bride, planning by Luxury Weddings Indonesia, florals and decor by Rose and Willow, and stationery by Veronica Halim deserve a major standing ovation. From the stylist…Xiaomin and Hao’s wedding was one beautiful wedding that we managed to design and execute within a short 2 months wedding preparation. Inspired by the color of autumn as they started their relationship during one fine autumn day, and using fresh fruits in the arrangement as the bride is a food nutritionist who is passionate about healthy living, the wedding combined an interesting color palette with fresh fruit as part of its arrangement.

The stationery has watercolor of falling leaves in the color palette to match the whole autumn love story. Not only the stationery, but every little detail of this wedding was customized to make the wedding feels extra special. Like the silk ribbon that we custom ordered in a specific shade to match the color palette of the wedding.

We used the custom silk ribbon not only for the bridal and bridesmaid bouquet, but also to tie the hand fan for ceremony and the linen pouch that holds potpourri for the flower shower.

The bride told me that in Chinese tradition they must give something sweet like candies and chocolates to the wedding guests. Since she herself is a nutritionist and a foodie, she wants to provide her guests with her fave high quality dark chocolate from Royce.

Instead of providing candies we put a few of the individually wrapped dark chocolate inside a linen packaging in delicious candy shape, wrap them with paper that has the wedding “autumn leaves” drawn in watercolor and then each “Candy” was hand calligraphed with the guest’s name before finally tied with the custom color silk ribbon. Such a lovely and thoughtful gift given to each guest that served as the wedding place card as well.

Last but not least, we also sprayed the bride’s favourite perfume on the wedding day and gave out room spray with the same scent as souvenir for the guests so as the guests spray it at home, they will be brought back to the memories of Xiaomin and Hong’s beautiful Bali wedding.
