Lavender Kissed Loveliness at Campovida

If I could get married all over again (same hubby of course), you’d probably see this exact color palette. Alice and Ben’s impeccably romantic wedding at Campovida was a dream in subtle cornflower blue and dusty rose tones, designed by Glow Events. And, as only Laura Gordon Photography can do, I’m 100% transported straight through her lens to their warm and sunny day through these lovely images. A Lihi Hod gown, a cocktail hour under a canopy of trees, and just wait until you see that wedding ceremony set up. So good, SO perfect!

One of my favorite wedding day details ever is the personalized, hand drawn map of Campovida done by bride herself for the wedding ceremony! What?! These are absolutely gorgeous and a remarkably sweet detail.

This wedding was a floral DREAM! Every bloom, expertly arranged by Amanda Vidmar Design, is level 100 in romance. The wildly composed stock florals for the ceremony aisle were my favorite… so pretty!

From Event Designer, Glow EventsAlice and Ben said “I do” at Campovida, an organic farm and winery nestled in Northern California’s wine country. The couple got engaged while in Iceland, and wanted their wedding decor to be reminiscent of their travels. We chose a color palette of lavender, blueish grey, and white, with watercolor and marble details to echo the natural scenery of Iceland’s lavender fields, open seas and snowy mountains.

The ceremony took place under the winery’s grand oak tree, with wild spray arrangements “growing” along the aisle. Cocktails took place in the organic garden, and guests dined under twinkling lights and a canopy of wisteria. The dining tables were adorned with etherial florals featuring pops of deep plum, antique blush roses, trailing vines and tapered navy candles.

From the bride… Ben and I got engaged in Iceland in the summer of 2016 – its majestic landscape left a deep impression on us and we wanted our wedding venue to convey a similar vibe. The moment we set foot on Campovida, we were awestruck by its organic energy and intimate setting. We also loved that we could stay with our wedding party and had the property all to ourselves. We shared such fond memories of everybody practicing dance moves, helping us finalize last minute details, chatting and laughing well into the night.

We got married under a splendid 500 year-old oak tree – that short minute of me walking down the isle, surrounded by the people I love the most and Ben awaiting at the end of it, was the most magical moment in my life. Our wedding date was on September 9, a date that symbolizes longevity in the Chinese culture and was also chosen to be in the fall in order to capture the glorious colors of the season. We wanted this day to be romantic but also get people on the dance floor – I choreographed a quick flashmob dance and sent the video tutorial to all the guests before the wedding. It was incredible to see everyone letting loose and fun to see our parents cutting up the dance floor.

I definitely had some option paralysis when it came to choosing a wedding dress but knew that I wanted a long-sleeve, off the shoulder neckline. On a weekend trip to visit my girlfriends in New York, I found a sample Lihi Hod off the rack that fit everything on the check list and it fit me like a glove! The skirt was custom made to match the lace. It was quite an ordeal to coordinate this under 3 months but boy did I love the thrill (and the bargain)! Our parents were amazing throughout the process – from helping us hand-fold hundreds of party favor boxes and carrying them from Taiwan to designing the wedding logo inspired by our initials and our wedding date (in Chinese letters).

Special details like this were sprinkled throughout the wedding. I hand-drew the Campovida property map and had my friend help me print it on fans for guests to cool off under the September sun while they wandered around the garden during cocktail hours. We also had ice cream & cake catered locally from Healdsburg, for our guests to nibble on after an amazing family-style feast under the beautiful Wisteria vines.
