If you are looking for gorgeous wedding inspiration you are in the right spot. But this Malibu Oaks shoot captured by Ellen Ashton goes far beyond the average pretty post. Tucked in-between the layers of elegant alfresco details crafted by Grit + Gold, and the romantic florals by Moss Floral Design are seven wedding details that will totally transform your celebration.
From Grit + Gold… When I first saw the mountain view that Malibu Rocky Oaks rendered, I knew I had to see it in person. So our entire Dallas team dreamed up a soft and romantic vision for what we wanted to produce in Malibu against the rocky cliff and majestic mountain scapes.
Our bride started in and soft and stately robe and then changed into a heavy tulle Carol Hannah gown. Our groom in a true blue suit was the perfect accompaniment. From lush florals and intricately styled flat lays, this shoot boasts so much beauty.
We are loving heirloom pieces being incorporated into the wedding day. Whether it’s vintage family wedding photos styled into your paper flat lay or an old family bible for the ring bearer to present, all these personal elements make a couple’s big day truly unique and their own.
Give your guests something to remember. We say favors are yesterday’s wedding trinket, today is all about the experience. So maybe a barista by bike or a poetry writer, giving your guests a surprise will sure to leave a lasting impression.
Texture is everything! This is how we take an overall wedding design to the next level. We are all about cane-back chairs, eyelet linens, velvet napkins and lush, organic florals. All of which will produce a more approachable design drawing guests in.
Creating usable spaces that extend from the wedding design is a great way to keep a relaxed and intentional feel. Beautiful furniture vignettes, layered pillows and throw blankets bring people together and give them a feeling of home.
The season always directly impacts our attire advice when it comes to grooms. We love true blue for summer weddings, maybe deep burgundy for fall/winter or even consider a velvet blazer.
This is a trend that isn’t going anywhere for a while. Ethereal gowns are here to stay! We see them everywhere and especially work well outdoors. They are not only flattering and lightweight making it easy to dance the night away, they are simply dreamy when the wind hits just right.
While scenic locations can be a bit more costly we agree they are well worth the splurge. We cannot get enough of Malibu Rocky Oaks with it’s panoramic view of the Santa Monica Mountains. With a backdrop like that, settings can be minimal letting the scenery be the focal point. Consider lots of greens and candlelight to compliment rather than compete.
