Give me all the fall vibes, please! Bright coral, moody crimson, and some pretty mauve tones are all over this beautiful autumnal wedding inspiration shoot from Ashford Acres in the Bluegrass State. And could these cuties be any more smitten with each other? Love the way Leah Barry Photography captured the fun-loving and romantic side of Teagan and Christopher…
From Leah Barry Photography… We chose Ashford Acres Inn, in Cynthiana, Kentucky, as the backdrop to our styled bridal shoot for its rich history and welcoming warmth. Beautifully constructed in 1858, this home later became a hospital for wounded soldiers during the Civil War. This moment in time is what inspired our love story between our bride, Laurel Teagan Williams and her groom, Christopher Ryan Gallagher.
We painted a picture of the bride’s grandmother being a nurse on this estate, four generations prior. It was on this historic land where she met her husband who was a young, injured soldier. She stood by his side through his recovery and they quickly fell in love. The bride wanted to honor her family’s heritage and chose to start the next chapter of her own love story where her grandmother’s began so long ago.
Our design vision for this styled shoot was inspired by our desire to bring color back to midwest wedding design. We began with a soft yet stunning color palette of dusty rose, soft blush, earthy reds, caramels and golden hues gave a romantic and serene sophistication to the foundation of the entire design.
The wild, organic form arrangements were balanced with a delicate whimsy of accent blooms and brought together with textural dimension. The tablescape was designed with understated elegance and simplicity in mind. Subtly textured white-washed dinnerware balanced the rustic nature of the wooden dining table. Modern gold flatware offered an elegant juxtaposition to the antique brass candlesticks that accompanied.
A variety of stylish vintage-inspired glassware was selected incorporating frosted ombré high-ball glasses, gold gilded champagne flutes and embossed lavender drinking glasses. Luxurious velvet and vintage wool textiles added visual softness through the selection of minimalist, dusty rose, velvet chairs and ornamental rugs. The stationery design followed the contemporary simplicity of the overall tablescape using a refined serif typeface and soft layering. The menus were printed on frosted vellum backed by gold leather for a chic and polished look. The invitation suite had an unexpected element of transparency using a vellum envelopes with printed liners for guests’ names and addresses.
We chose 2 gowns for our bride to wear as a transition of mood throughout her wedding day. The fitted lace ceremony gown was more traditional with a sweetheart neckline and off-shoulder sleeves. This look was accented by a jeweled headpiece and a crystal beaded silk belt. A silver tear drop diamond pendant and bracelet completed her look. The reception collection was an airy and elegant lace gown with pearl beading and delicate straps. Diamond stud earrings and a strand of rose pearls were chosen to complement. Our groom wore a timeless, two-piece, navy suit with a champagne silk tie and accenting dove grey suede Derbys.
The couple’s wedding rings were no exception to the elegant sophistication carried throughout the styled shoot. The bride wore an emerald cut diamond surrounded by a halo of pave set diamonds to add a vintage touch to a modern silhouette. The milgrain detailing matches the beading of the pave set diamonds surrounding the center stone and down the band perfectly. The groom’s wedding band was an exquisite masculine blend of mahogany, bone, and tungsten. Both rings are full of graceful detailing and beauty, just like the marriage they represent.
