From Veronica Rogers… This editorial was inspired by deGournay’s beautifully intricate bird drawings. I wanted to create different scenes that played on the theme, “Love Birds”. Each scene connects to this theme in various ways and gives brides inspiration on how to take a theme and incorporate it into the styling of their wedding day. I loved pushing some boundaries in the styling to encourage others to push boundaries and to not just stick to what is trendy. From the bird inspired make up by the amazing Anna Breeding to the love nest designed by genius florist, Maxine with Max Owens Design, to the birds present in the background of many of the shots- real beauty can be created when we forge our own path and push boundaries and try new things. I was also very inspired by the location of our shoot – Jardin du Buis is an exquisite venue outside of New York City designed impeccably by the owners as a European-inspired getaway. Bonnie Sen, our photographer, really captured the essence of this shoot absolutely beautifully.
