San Diego's Scripps Seaside Forum Wedding with Love & Puppies!
There are a few photographers that we can always count on to take the Style Me Pretty vibe...and run with it in a way that elevates our own brand to a place where wedding dreams are made. And Savan Photography is one of those talents. A quick search for their weddings on SMP will instantly prove to you that they are eyes behind some of our most beloved weddings. And this one - where the gorgeous bride is an amazing calligrapher with mad skills of her own - is one of my new favorites. A seaside celebration where the love bounces off every single image and the perfect details only take a backseat to the pure adoration that this pair has for one another. Read on for all of the pretty!
From the Bride... Jimmy and I really wanted to add a lot of personal touches to our wedding details to really show our personality and things we love (like our puppies and love for sprinkles). Being a calligrapher, I wanted to showcase that through our invitations and bigger displays and really "wow" our guests with some of those pieces.
We picked Scripps Seaside Forum because Jimmy is from Ohio and his one request was to get married near water. I think we definitely delivered that! We mainly wanted our guests to just have fun, be happy and enjoy all of the little things! It was a day filled with love and a day we will never forget!
From Savan Photography...The bride, owner of Pirouette Paper, designed her own invitations with a soft and natural color palette of white, gray and gold. The gray letterpress with gold foil on the invitation brings some texture and the floral envelope liner gives a pop of color and greenery to the suite. The fold out details card with custom illustrations is delicately wrapped in vellum with a gold wax seal to have an additional piece of fun. The whole suite was tied in a beautiful soft gray silk ribbon and posted with a custom stamp.
A similar design was brought in to the reception details through the menus and envelope place cards which each contained a hand-written note from the bride and groom. The wooden welcome sign, hand-painted and written in calligraphy by Kaylyn was hung and delicately draped with greenery to welcome guests to the beach-side venue. The stunning table assignment display was all handmade by Kaylyn and her dad, with each guest's name being cut out in vinyl, placed on acrylic pieces and hung on the hand-painted board.
The venue was a perfect waterfront setting, directly over the sand of the La Jolla Shores. With the Scripps Pier in the background, Kaylyn and Jimmy said "I do" in front of their closest friends and family. The ceremony was held on the front lawn followed by a night of great food and dancing with a gorgeous view of the San Diego sunset.
Kaylyn wore a Stella York ballgown dress with lace details and a beaded belt. It was perfect for twirling on the dance floor and running on the sand. Jackie of Penelope Pots dreamt up the most beautiful florals for Kaylyn and Jimmy's special day. The bouquets were full of white blooms and subtle greens including mint and other unique florals. The reception was overflowing with more gorgeous centerpieces, and installments of elevated greenery.
See even more of the day unfold in this beautiful wedding film from Theater 10.
Although Kaylyn and Jimmy's puppies couldn't make it to the wedding, they made sure they were honored by having treat bags from their pups, Grayson and Olive for the human guests to take home to their pups. Kaylyn has an unhealthy love for rainbow sprinkles, so Susie Cakes and VGs donuts made sure there was enough sprinkles to go around.
