Modern and bohemian are only the beginning of this wildly sweet celebration planned by Kindle and Gather. Because behind the brightly hued florals by Bristol Lane, the ever so strong sign game and the burger food truck eats, is immeasurable amounts of love. You can’t fake infinite happiness and the proof is in the pudding. See all the beauty and smiles so perfectly captured by Michelle Boyd, with even more in the gallery.
From the bride… Planning your favorite day with your favorite human can at first seem like a daunting task. When Luke and I set off to create our wedding day we knew it would be easy to get lost in the avalanche of details that follow. We were on a road trip the day after we got engaged and had five hours to dream of our wedding together, so we set the list of what we cared about. It came down to three things: proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus, celebrating our community and their part in our story, and having the most joyful party after. The rest faded into the background when we realized what was most important to us.
The week after Luke proposed, I wrote down what our day was about to be read before I even walked down the aisle. That moment where those words were read for our friends and families stands out as one of the holiest moments I’ve experienced.
As a wedding photographer, picking my wedding vendors was the easiest thing in the world. Michelle Boyd taught me how to work a camera, gave me my first photography job, and dreamed bigger for my business than I even could when first starting out. She was the first and only choice to capture our story. We picked vendors who’s work has proven excellent over the years, but more importantly, people we loved and wanted to showcase on our day. My sister is the most talented floral designer. She not only came up with the most gorgeous creations possible but rocked being maid of honor while seven months pregnant. She helped me design the day and truly helped make the vision come to life. Our entire team of vendors had creative control over their areas of expertise, we let them design and dictate what they know best. Every single one delivered beyond our wildest expectations.
Our day was the most perfect representation of us there could be. One of our favorite details of the day was the arch he and I made for our ceremony backdrop! We had two of our old Young Life kids serve us communion then worshiped together as a community with our guests. From the ceremony being intimate and laughter filled to a burger food truck for dinner and a killer dance floor, every moment felt like Luke and I personified and the celebration of the year!
